About Us User Story 205240
Our Business Balance groups - focused on Race & Faith, LGBTQ+, Gender and Health & Wellbeing - continue to spearhead a wide range of issues for Knight Frank colleagues and host an active programme of well-attended topical events. Our groups, together with our external specialist advisers in employee culture and inclusivity, review our policies and procedures to provide guidance and support towards achieving our future objectives and how we become a more inclusive firm. We are committed to ensuring that our six decision making boards are increasingly diversified, including having female representation (40%) and suitable Race & Faith representation by the end of our next financial year.
Following feedback through our employee surveys and drop-in sessions; we have launched a new family leave policy equalising enhanced family leave for parents of all genders. Parents will be offered the same opportunity to take up to 52 weeks of leave, at 26 weeks full basic pay. The length of service requirement has also been reduced from two years to one year. The aim is to allow everyone the same opportunity to enjoy this precious bonding time with their child in the early stages of their life, and be there to support their family. We hope that it will also help to better balance our business, reducing any potential unconscious bias in hiring / promotions, as all parents now have the same opportunities, to make the right choice for them.
Our latest graduate cohort is our largest ever and is a reflection of our commitment to shaping a more diverse industry in the years to come. We have also developed a Balanced Recruitment Framework which has been designed to maintain a fair and equal process when we recruit, assess and onboard people into our teams around the world. Through talent attraction we reach a diverse audience, the opportunity is presented to a wide range of talent and it resonates with a diverse audience who identify with the purpose & values of the firm.
Working with our LGBTQ+ group we introduced a new Gender Identity Pathway to our Private Medical Insurance scheme to provide access to specialist GPs and emotional support to those who need it in relation to gender dysphoria. This support has dramatically reduced waiting time to see specialists from 5 years to approximately two months
Our UK-Wide KFX programme is a cross-divisional initiative with representatives from all backgrounds, levels and service lines, who are empowered to develop new ideas to help shape the future of Knight Frank.
We introduced our ‘Leaders for Today’ management training programme in 2021. This programme is designed to support our teams in developing their leadership and management skills across Gender, Race & Faith, LGBTQ+, mental health, disability and wellbeing.

Embracing equity means creating equal opportunities for everyone — acknowledging any imbalances in our culture to build a place where all our people feel they belong. We want to inspire change to make sure we can all start on equal footing. By being more aware and empathetic towards the experiences of those around us, we’ll move us closer to our goal of gender equality in the industry and at Knight Frank.
Our Business Balance Health & Wellbeing group aim is to help our people achieve their full potential — and how we, as a business, can support our people to feel and perform at their best.
